Common questions

Short answers — the detail lives on each calculator page.

Fidya is paid for fasts you can never make up (for example, because of old age or a permanent illness) — you feed one poor person per missed fast. Fitrana (Zakat al-Fitr) is the fixed amount every able Muslim pays per household member before the Eid prayer. Kaffarah is the serious expiation for deliberately breaking a fast without a valid excuse — fasting two consecutive months, or, if truly unable, feeding sixty poor people per broken fast.

A final word: Ramadan Money Hub is an educational tool, not a religious authority. Where scholars differ, follow the scholar you trust — and may Allah accept your fasting and your giving.
